Javier Pastore was one of the guests at the Legends Match hosted by FIFA on the occasion of the tournament in Vancouver today. Interestingly, the former PSG player is Enzo Fernandes’ agent. Enzo Fernandes openly courted Real Madrid and was subsequently sanctioned by his club Chelsea. Pastore spoke to MARCA about the player’s situation and asked for patience with Mastantuono, who has been suspected in his first season at Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
\u201cArgentina are defending their title, they are coming strong, the players have arrived full of confidence and we are the favorites because of those players. But there is still a month until the games and it is clear that there are other very strong national teams. It’s a shame that we didn’t have the Finalisima. It would have been a great chance to test ourselves against other contenders, especially against a Spanish team with very young players and a lot of talent,” Pastore said at the beginning.<\/p>\n
The former player addressed the Enzo Fernandes situation and revealed his future at Chelsea is up in the air, but insisted his trip to Madrid – where he was also spotted watching tennis with Bellingham – was nothing more than a closeness to the Spanish capital and his friends who live in Spain.<\/p>\n
“Nothing happened to Enzo Fernandes”<\/h2>\n
“A lot has been said, but nothing has happened. He is focused on finishing the season in the best possible way at Chelsea. It’s true that he said some inappropriate things, but he didn’t say anything strange. He was just talking about Madrid. I really like Madrid, because I’m there, I have friends there, and that’s it. The idea is to finish a good year at Chelsea and go to the World Cup, and then we’ll see.”<\/p>\n
Pastore also believes Enzo is playing with more presence offensively. “He plays in many positions. In the national team he often plays as a number eight, arriving box-to-box. It’s normal for people to see him as more attacking, but he can also play deeper.”<\/p>\n
“Mastantuono must adapt to Real Madrid”<\/h2>\n
Pastore also spoke about Mastantuono’s experience at Real Madrid. The former PSG player himself broke into European football from Argentina at a young age, joining Paris at the age of 22. “He is 18 years old. I wish he had come to Madrid at that age. He is very young, very talented and needs time. He has to adapt and the team has to help him play his own football. He’s not the type of player who makes a difference on his own like Oppe. He needs to make a difference.”I think over time we’ll see what kind of player he really is, working with other players to create plays and get into the box. \u201d<\/p>\n
Finally, Javier Pastore praised the spectacular showdown between PSG and Bayern and said he hopes his former club can reach the final for the second year in a row. “I was able to watch the last 25 minutes and then I was able to watch it again. There are two teams that want to attack, that’s the type of football we want to watch. Hopefully in the second leg PSG can reach the final again.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
