Bruno Fernandes is two assists away from setting a Premier League record of 20 assists, but the Manchester United captain plans to put his team before himself in the Red Devils’ remaining two games.<\/h2>\n

Bruno Fernandes wants to write his name in the Premier League record books and help Manchester United win the title. United captain Fernandes has already won the Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year award after a fantastic season at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n
Fernandes is also just shy of Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists in a single Premier League season. But Fernandes admitted he is desperate to help United win the top prize again, with the Premier League title and Champions League in their sights.<\/p>\n
Fernandes said: “As I said before, this record is very special because it belongs to Thierry and Kevin. They have been outstanding players in the Premier League for many years and it would be great if we could do that.”<\/p>\n
“But I don’t want to focus too much on that, because we want to achieve our goals and we want to achieve what is possible for us. One of them was to get back into the Champions League places. We wanted to get back into the European places and it’s even better to get back into the Champions League.”<\/p>\n

“Creating chances, passing the ball to my teammates and helping them score goals is part of my game, so if I get a chance to score myself I’ll be happy to take it. That record would be a great achievement, but it’s not something I really want to focus on.”<\/p>\n
Fernandes is focused on his team and helping United get back to where they belong in the race for the biggest prize. United are set to return to the Champions League next season, but Fernandes said Michael Carrick has helped him dream of winning the title.<\/p>\n
He added: “Michael did very well for Middlesbrough. This season didn’t go well for him, but maybe he was lucky! Because he was able to feature for the club then and then had a chance to come back and he did a great job towards the end of the season.”<\/p>\n

“It’s up to the club to decide whether they want to keep their faith in him or go a different route. Of course, we all know that going into next season, the aim of this club must always be winning. I don’t think players choose to come to Man United in the first place because they just want to put on the shirt.”<\/p>\n
“It’s a big feeling, it’s a big thing to be sent off at Old Trafford and that was the dream I had, but I had that dream because I knew this club could win things and come close to winning the Premier League and the Champions League. That’s why I came to this club.<\/p>\n
“For me, they have to be like that. They start the season with zero points with the other players, they start with zero points in the Champions League and they have to go to the knockout stage.”<\/p>\n
