The injury was sustained earlier this month when Ireland played for Wythenshawe Veterans in the Cheshire Veterans Premier Division Cup final against South Liverpool.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The veteran team made headlines earlier this season after fielding a squad filled with Premier League legends and overwhelming their opponents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>In the cup final, Newcastle United&#8217;s cult hero Papis Ciss\u00e9 scored a hat-trick, but the match was abandoned due to an injury to Ireland.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>This latest update comes after Ireland posted on social media for the first time since the incident. The former Aston Villa and Stoke City midfielder shared footage of the moment his leg broke.
