MONTREAL (AP) \u2014 Cole Bassett scored the tying goal in the 77th minute as the Portland Timbers played to a 2-2 tie against the Montreal Impact on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Bassett’s first shot from long range missed the far post, but he fired his first shot into the back of the net off the rebound. <\/p>\n

Portland cut the deficit to one point in the 21st minute when Kevin Kelce redirected Christopher Verde’s cross and scored a goal.<\/p>\n

Kelce had two goals and two assists in his third consecutive start as Portland (4-6-2) earned a 6-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City. The 21-year-old’s six-point performance against Kansas City tied the club record, which was last achieved by Sebastian Blanco in 2022.<\/p>\n

Montreal (4-7-1)’s home winning streak ended at four. <\/p>\n

Daniel Rios took the lead in the 11th inning, and Wiki Carmona gave Montreal a 2-1 lead just before halftime. <\/p>\n

Rios turned with the ball at the top of the penalty area and curled a shot into the top corner. <\/p>\n

Matty Longstaff’s through ball found Carmona, who crossed the defense and crossed goalkeeper James Pantemis. <\/p>\n
