Michael Carrick remains focused on his job at Manchester United and is not concerned about his bosses at Old Trafford looking for someone to replace him.<\/h2>\n

Michael Carrick insists he is not concerned about Manchester United potentially looking elsewhere for a new manager, insisting: “It’s obviously going to be a process.”<\/p>\n
The former player turned coach has led a resurgence at Old Trafford, exceeding expectations with 10 wins from 14 games. It meant United were back in the Champions League, and Carrick’s audition couldn’t have gone any better.<\/p>\n
He was appointed manager until the end of the season, with initial expectations that he would step down as the club looked to sign major players. Opinions are divided over whether Carrick should be handed the United job given his achievements, but there has been no official announcement.<\/p>\n
The former Middlesbrough manager has had to keep his job amid persistent speculation that the leaders of Manchester’s red side are scouring the market for someone to take his role, but he insists it doesn’t bother him and he fully expected it to happen.<\/p>\n
When asked if he was uncomfortable with the situation, he replied: “No, not at all. I don’t care if it’s discussed or not.”<\/p>\n

“My approach hasn’t changed. It literally hasn’t affected me in any way because I’ve had confidence in the job we’re doing, working with the players and leading the club. No. I think it’s obviously going to be a process from the get-go in terms of ultimately finding someone to fill the position.”<\/p>\n
Since taking over, Carrick has beaten the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa. His influence since taking over from Rub\u00e9n Amorim has been immediate, with the likes of Mateus Cunha and Casemiro publicly calling for him to take up the job full-time.<\/p>\n

Carrick added: “As a coach or manager, I think you are only a leader of the group if you want people to follow you. It’s not so much about talking, but it’s the actions that prove it. So when you feel supported and all the players feel connected, showing that together on the pitch, not in relation to me, is the most important thing.”<\/p>\n
“They clearly show that in different ways and that’s the most gratifying thing. It’s satisfying to see them come together as a team.”<\/p>\n
