Marcus Rashford’s future is still up in the air as his loan spell at Barcelona draws to a close, but his parent club Manchester United and their players have decided on a move.<\/h2>\n

Marcus Rashford may still be a Manchester United player, but the team have already moved on from him and are currently discussing the possibility of challenging for the title next season. Rashford has spent this season on loan at Barcelona and is already looking ahead, with no prospect of a return to his boyhood club.<\/p>\n
Rashford enjoyed his time at Bar\u00e7a, scoring 13 goals and providing 14 assists in 46 appearances for Hansi Flick’s side. He is desperate to make a permanent move, but must be patient as Barcelona negotiate with United over the terms of such a move.<\/p>\n
Bar\u00e7a are reluctant to activate the \u20ac30 million (approximately 2.6 billion yen) option in his loan deal and are seeking to bring Rashford back on loan. United, on the other hand, want to sign him permanently as they want to cancel his \u00a3325,000-a-week contract.<\/p>\n
The 28-year-old forward still has two years left on his contract at United, but there is no way he could return to Carrington, as evidenced by the fact that the number 10 shirt has gone to Matheus Cunha. Rashford is currently on loan along with Jadon Sancho and Andre Onana, with United hoping to make a permanent move from the group, similar to Rasmus Hojlund, who joined Napoli on a permanent basis.<\/p>\n

United hope to complete the deal early in the summer so they can reinvest funds into new players. The Sun reports that the mood is very positive after 10 wins from 14 games under manager Michael Carrick, with players informally discussing the possibility of winning the title in 2026\/27.<\/p>\n
Last summer’s successful transfer window, which saw the signings of Cunha, Brian Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesco and Senne Lamence, has given the club renewed optimism. United sit third in the Premier League and have already secured qualification for next season’s Champions League with three games remaining.<\/p>\n

United will now focus on signing an elite central midfielder to replace Casemiro, while a move for Manuel Ugarte is also expected. Elliott Anderson, Carlos Baleva, Sandro Tonali and Adam Wharton are among established players in the Premier League being considered for the position, but a new goalkeeper could also be needed if Onana and Altai Baindil leave.<\/p>\n
