Erling Haaland is still tied to Manchester City, having only signed a new contract with the Premier League side last year, and his agent Rafaela Pimenta has issued a statement.<\/h2>\n

Erling Haaland’s agent has claimed that Manchester City “didn’t really need anything” and “couldn’t take advantage” during negotiations to extend the Norwegian’s contract.<\/p>\n
The Norwegian striker joins from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and has proven to be an exciting signing. Since then, Haaland has made 195 appearances in all competitions, scoring 160 goals. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away, with Real Madrid also reportedly interested.<\/p>\n
However, last season Haaland signed a new contract with City that will keep him in Manchester until 2034. Giving an insight into the negotiations ahead of Haaland putting pen to paper for a deal, his agent Rafaela Pimenta admitted City were always in the driver’s seat.<\/p>\n
Speaking to ESPN, she said: “It’s very serious, they (City) are very organized. They’re very big. They know what they’re doing, they have a lot of experience, they don’t really need anything, they have everything. So we have no influence.”<\/p>\n

“He’s a lot like us (soccer agents),” Pimenta added of Haaland himself. “In his way, very casual, very comfortable, very relaxed, very discreet… For him, football is the most serious game you can play.<\/p>\n
“I think people often have the impression that a football player’s job is easier than it actually is. I often say that a high-performing football player has to be very intelligent. So don’t underestimate the intelligence of a player at the top of the pyramid. He has to be very dedicated,” she added.<\/p>\n
And while Haaland is expected to remain with his current employers for the foreseeable future, that may not be the case for many players. The summer transfer window is set to open in a few weeks, although the World Cup may have an impact on the market.<\/p>\n

“Look, it’s hard to say that without causing gossip. I’m speaking off the top of my head without any information,” Pimenta said when asked how much of an impact the tournament would have.<\/p>\n
“I think Liverpool will make a lot of moves. We already know that Ajax are making a lot of moves and everyone knows that. It’s certainly not a big club like Real Madrid or Barcelona, \u200b\u200bbut it’s an important club.”<\/p>\n
