Liverpool amend controversial ticket plan following protests at Anfield (Image: Getty)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n Liverpool have scrapped controversial plans to increase ticket prices year-on-year until the 2028\/29 season. The proposal was fiercely opposed by Reds supporters, with many taking part in protests inside Anfield in recent months. During last month’s match against Crystal Palace, fans turned the stadium into a sea of \u200b\u200byellow in a massive demonstration against the planned price rise.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Supporters brandished yellow cards in the 13th minute to express their dissatisfaction with the increase that was revealed in March. A 3% price increase for next season is being discussed, with further inflation-linked increases planned for 2027\/28 and 2028\/29. However, that plan has now been revised and will be welcomed by many Liverpool fans.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The inflation-based 3% increase in general admission prices for next season will be maintained, but prices will be frozen for the 2027\/28 season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In a statement, the Liverpool Supporters’ Board said it welcomed the decision and looked forward to holding further discussions with the club to discuss the new proposal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “While we understand that the increase in ticket prices for next season will leave some disappointed, we would like to assure our fans that there will be no increase next season and that we will continue to negotiate with the club and do our best to find alternative ways to prevent ticket price increases in the future.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI would like to thank the people at LFC for listening to us and working with us. Not all club hierarchies have done the same, and we look forward to working with them to find a way forward that benefits everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “I’d also like to thank you for supporting us, helping handing out leaflets, protesting and making sure your voice was heard. We couldn’t have gotten this far without you. There are only two games left at Anfield this season.
