Arne Slott has had a difficult two seasons at Liverpool after winning the Premier League, but the Dutchman is likely to be offered a job even if he leaves Anfield.<\/h2>\n

Arne Slott is set to remain at Liverpool despite growing pressure and interest from Dutch giants Ajax. The Dutchman has endured a very difficult second season at Anfield after helping the Reds win the Premier League last season.<\/p>\n
Liverpool lost 3-2 to arch-rivals Manchester United on Sunday, leaving them in fourth place, 18 points behind leaders Arsenal. Liverpool’s difficult situation has put Slott’s position within the club into question.<\/p>\n
But he doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. According to reports in Dutch media, Ajax were interested in signing Slot as they look for a permanent replacement for Fred Grimm.<\/p>\n
It is said that the Eredivisie side requested an investigation into Slott, but it was quickly rejected. The 47-year-old remains firmly entrenched at Anfield and is reluctant to move to Ajax at this stage of his career.<\/p>\n

His contract on Merseyside runs until 2027. Previous reports suggest that Anfield bosses are keen to keep Slot and give him time to turn things around at the club.<\/p>\n
Former Liverpool star Dietmar Hamann gave an insight into his future, saying: “I’ve heard that Arne Slott will be staying next season. I think there’s an argument that maybe a change of manager should have happened or should have happened.”<\/p>\n
“But Liverpool have always been very loyal to their manager. Of course he won the league last season, so I think this decision is acceptable to me and I think most fans will be as well if we can finish the season decently.”<\/p>\n

“Then obviously we have to see what happens in the summer after the World Cup with the players leaving. Obviously Andy Robertson leaves, Mohamed Salah leaves. But certainly I think it’s an understandable decision.”<\/p>\n
“Maybe for the first time in a long time, Liverpool fans are divided. The fan base is very knowledgeable and Liverpool don’t usually sack managers. Things have obviously changed in the last 10 or 12 years because the game has changed and managers have to leave their jobs sooner than they did 20 or 25 years ago.”<\/p>\n
“But usually when the fan base changes, it’s only a matter of time before a manager has to leave. I think right now, in the case of Arne Slott, opinions are divided because of what he did last season. I think it’s probably the first time in a long time that we’ve been so divided.”<\/p>\n
