Casemiro is expected to leave Manchester United this summer and has agreed in principle to join Inter Miami, but Matheus Cunha claims the Brazilian superstar may change his mind.<\/h2>\n

Matheus Cunha claims Casemiro could make a dramatic U-turn and remain at Manchester United next season. Casemiro announced earlier this season that he would leave Old Trafford this summer.<\/p>\n
The Brazilian is one of United’s highest-paid stars and co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is keen to exempt him from the club’s wage bill. Casemiro is in talks with David Beckham’s Inter Miami and is expected to join the MLS outfit to link up with Lionel Messi.<\/p>\n
However, fellow Brazilian Cunha made a bombshell by revealing that his international team-mate may still change his mind and continue playing at Old Trafford. Cunha said: “I played with him in the national team and I know how important he is. He’s a great guy. And yeah, it’s a privilege to have this guy in the dressing room.”<\/p>\n
“We don’t know what his contract ultimately is. And of course we, everyone, hope we can do a little bit more. Of course, of course, we know it’s more difficult than we talked about, but ultimately we don’t know.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Cunha has told United leaders to make Michael Carrick their permanent manager. Carrick has been a revelation since taking over on an interim basis, with Sunday’s victory over arch-rivals Liverpool clinching Champions League qualification with three games remaining.<\/p>\n
Cunha believes Carrick deserves the job full-time, adding: “I don’t think it’s in my hands, but what he’s done is full of confidence within the group. I think he’s got that magic of the[Sir Alex]Ferguson days. It’s great to be part of everything when he does this. He’s delighted and I think he deserves it, of course.”<\/p>\n
The Brazilian forward, who scored the opening goal against Liverpool, also underlined the need for the club to kick-start next season and push towards greater honours. “If you come to a club like United, like I said, I think this type of club needs to be in the Champions League,” he said. “But we have to fight for all titles, not just the Champions League. I don’t think this step can be bigger than what we achieved this season and I think this is the first step.”<\/p>\n

“I think we can be even stronger for next season and then we’ll do what we think we can do.” Cunha believes United are in the Champions League, on par with other European powerhouses.<\/p>\n
He added: “You know, it’s one of the greatest privileges for me to play for this club and I know that my goal for the season is to play there. I don’t think the Champions League without this club is the same competition, and this club without the Champions League is not the same club.”<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be a part of this, to be a part of them, I think when I joined there were a lot of questions about how the club was going to come back, so I\u2019m very happy to be a part of this.\u201d<\/p>\n
