A win for the Reds would seal their place in the Champions League, something few could have predicted when Ruben Amorim was sacked earlier this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>Before kick-off, Sturridge and Keane had a disagreement over the idea of \u200b\u200bappointing the former midfielder in the position full-time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>But their lively discussion turned awkward when Sturridge interrupted the former Reds captain. Keane said, &#8220;They are delivering and we go back to the beginning of his era when we beat Man City and Arsenal,&#8221; and the exchange began.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>&#8220;It gave the group a lot of faith and confidence and what they showed was a goal threat. They had setbacks against Newcastle and here against Leeds, but they bounced back well. So they obviously have some momentum and there&#8217;s some atmosphere within the group. But today is the next test for them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>\u201cAs I said earlier, I think it will have a big impact on whether they can do well today and whether he gets the job or not.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>&#8220;I know we shouldn&#8217;t just focus on that one game, but there&#8217;s an emotional side to it as well. If they perform well today, I think that&#8217;s a big step towards him getting the job permanently.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of PR on him, there&#8217;s a lot of push. He&#8217;s a young English coach and there&#8217;s a lot of media behind him. I&#8217;m sorry&#8221; and backing away.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>In contrast, Gary Neville added: &#8220;I&#8217;m on record about Michael whether he should get the job or not. What I&#8217;m saying is I&#8217;m not sure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>&#8220;But my gut feeling before I took over was that Manchester United should appoint the best possible manager, a world-class manager with experience of working in the Champions League and winning league titles, and Michael clearly didn&#8217;t have that ability.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s been at Middlesbrough and learned his trade, so I don&#8217;t think we&#8217;re on a different page than that. What I&#8217;m saying is, &#8216;Who&#8217;s going to be there?&#8217; That&#8217;s the question on everyone&#8217;s mind, who&#8217;s going to take over from Michael now?
