The former Red Devils manager is a regular at Old Trafford and was visiting the famous ground for Sunday&#8217;s important Premier League match. He was the most successful manager in the club&#8217;s history, winning 38 major trophies during his 26-year tenure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Ferguson is being treated purely as a precaution and United officials hope he will be able to recover at home soon. He was taken to hospital about an hour before kick-off. He suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2018 and recovered after surgery, but there is no indication that he is connected to the incident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The legendary Scotsman, now 84, has faced a series of life-changing health challenges in recent years. After suffering a brain hemorrhage, doctors told him he had only a 20 percent chance of survival, but he ignored the odds and recovered.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>He later spoke about the ordeal in his film Never Give In, saying, &#8220;There were five brain bleeds that day. Three died, two survived. You know you&#8217;re lucky.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Mr. Ferguson also suffered immense grief after losing his wife, Kathy, in 2023. She passed away at the age of 84 after 57 years of happy marriage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Since leaving the United dugout in 2013, he has continued to feature regularly and is often seen in the director&#8217;s box at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>He previously held an ambassadorial role at the club, but was later relieved of that role by Sir Jim Ratcliffe as part of United&#8217;s cost-cutting measures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Ratcliffe said of her decision: &#8220;I sat alone in the room with Alex.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&#8220;I said, &#8216;Look, the club is not in the situation you think it is. We&#8217;re spending more than we earn and we&#8217;re going to face some difficulties.&#8217;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&#8220;&#8216;To be honest, we can&#8217;t afford to keep paying you \u00a32 million a year.&#8217; I said, &#8216;I&#8217;ll leave that to you, let me think about it.&#8217;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&#8220;He was very mature and maybe a little grumpy at first, but he understood.
