Mainou has agreed terms until the summer of 2031, with his weekly salary expected to rise to around \u00a3150,000 after negotiations between the two sides accelerated this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>This represented a significant pay rise of around 500 per cent, and Mainu last signed with his boyhood club at the age of 17, when he was just beginning to break into the first team. Negotiations over new terms began several years ago but were halted after the Mainu lost support under Reuven Amorim.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>But these discussions have moved forward rapidly since Michael Carrick took over in January, as Mainu&#8217;s profile has returned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>&#8220;Manchester United has always been my home. This special club means everything to my family,&#8221; Mainoo said. \u201cI have grown up watching the impact the club has on the city and I enjoy the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>&#8220;It has been an incredible journey so far, from The Cliff to Lyttleton Road, Carrington and finally Old Trafford. I have a relentless desire to succeed here and am privileged to live the dream every day, just as I did when I attended my first training session at the age of six.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>\u201cWe can all feel the momentum building within the club and I am determined to step up and do my part to help Manchester United compete regularly for major trophies over the next few years.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>Director of Football Jason Wilcox said: &#8220;Coby is one of the most naturally talented young footballers in the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>\u201cHis technical ability, dedicated professionalism and humble personality make him the perfect role model for our young players and a real credit to our outstanding academy system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>&#8220;We are delighted that Coby has extended his stay here and have full confidence that he is ready to develop into one of the best players in the world and play a central role in a Manchester United team that challenges for the biggest honours.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>The new deal ends a difficult period for Mainu at United, with the Stockport-born talent considering a loan move to Napoli before Amorim was sacked at the start of January.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>He played just 213 minutes in the first half of the Premier League season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>He has rejoined the team under manager Carrick and terms reflecting his current position at Old Trafford were agreed on Wednesday afternoon and rubber-stamped by United officials on Thursday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>Of the 13 games Carrick has coached, Mainu has only missed one game, playing all but 14 minutes in the remaining 12 games.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text-description\">\n<p>And his recent performances have been remarkable, with his midfield partnership alongside Casemiro forming the cornerstone of United&#8217;s resurgence and putting them in a good position to qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"whatsapp-group \">        Join us on WhatsApp for the latest Man United news<\/p>\n<p class=\"wapp-inf\">Our community members may receive special offers, promotions, and advertising from us and our partners.
