Frank Lampard is adamant he is ‘enjoying the moment’ at Coventry City rather than setting his sights on former club Chelsea. There have been no concrete reports linking the 47-year-old to a third stint at Stamford Bridge following Liam Rosenior’s sacking this week, but speculation has already begun to grow that he could be targeted by Premier League clubs for his role in leading the Sky Blues to promotion this season.<\/p>\n
In his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s game against Wrexham, he was asked by Sky Sports whether he would be tempted to take up the Chelsea job again. He and his team will then be presented with the championship title trophy.<\/p>\n
In response, Lampard said: “I definitely don’t want to talk about Liam and Chelsea. I’ve been there too, and I don’t really want to talk about the manager because of things behind the scenes.”<\/p>\n
“I think it would be rude to pass judgment on that. That’s for the experts to judge. I’m the manager of Coventry and I’m enjoying the moment of promotion and winning the title. That’s it.”<\/p>\n
Asked about his thoughts on the Blues’ season and their fifth straight league defeat without being able to find the net, which ultimately sealed Rosenior’s fate, he said: “It’s definitely a difficult phase and we as managers know what the consequences can be in those difficult phases.”<\/p>\n

“And I think we all have to be old enough to understand that. But as a football club, they’re in a difficult period. They have a chance of being able to get something out of the season, maybe in the FA Cup and league places, if they can improve on that, but that’s Chelsea’s business.”<\/p>\n
“Chelsea is a big part of my life, but at the moment it’s Chelsea’s business and my business is here.” Asked if he understood why some Coventry supporters fear losing him, given his links to Chelsea, Lampard said: “I don’t know.<\/p>\n

“I’d like to think the Coventry fans are just enjoying what we’ve done all season. I think in the management world there’s a lot of things you can’t control.<\/p>\n
“All you can do is take control of your job and I have to come and talk to you about the rumors and things like that, but for now I think we should just enjoy what is a great season. I’m really proud and happy to be a part of it.”<\/p>\n

“I’m enjoying what I’m doing so I can’t control who is or isn’t worried. What I’m saying is, it’s a special year so just enjoy it.” Lampard, who has 12 months left on his contract at CBS Arena, was asked by the BBC whether any discussions had taken place with owner Doug King about a new deal with the club.<\/p>\n
He replied: “There are no discussions going on so I’m just continuing to work and enjoying the last few weeks.”<\/p>\n
