Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has won his race to be worthy of the start of the new Premier League season. United’s No. 1 suffered a hamstring injury in the first week of preseason training.<\/p>\n
Onana’s injuries also increased the prospects that United will have to enter the market to buy a new keeper as a cover for Cameroon International until they fully recover. But Onana’s injuries — tension, not tears — aren’t as bad as initially feared, and responds well to United’s medical and physics team treatment.<\/p>\n
Onana misses the pre-season opener with Stockholm’s Leeds on Saturday, but he will travel with the rest of the team for a three-game tour in the US. Reuben Amorim and his team will depart for the state early next week, playing West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton as part of the Premier League summer series.<\/p>\n
Onana won’t appear in the opening two games in New York and Chicago, but we hope United has recovered well enough to take part in the final game in Atlanta.<\/p>\n
United played Fiorentina at Old Trafford on August 9th, and held Arsenal at the Premier League opener on August 17th.<\/p>\n

Despite failing two bids for Brentford’s Brian Mbemo, United have not given up hopes of moving forward before the start of a new season. Brentford is understood to want up to \u00a370 million from Mbeumo, who scored 20 Premier League goals last season.<\/p>\n
Despite the rating gap between the two clubs, United hopes they can reach a compromise and hopes that 25-year-old Mbeumo is eager to move.<\/p>\n
The Red Devils announced last week that third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton has signed a new one-year contract at the age of 39.<\/p>\n

United’s other goalkeeping options include Radekwytek, a 21-year-old Czech man who was impressed by the loan last season with Austrian FC Blauweislinz. Amorim could also call 19-year-old Eli Harrison and Dermot Mee, 22.<\/p>\n
All three young people were named United’s bench in the final week of last season, but each hasn’t made their debut yet.<\/p>\n
