MUNICH (AP) – Germany forward Serge Gnabry has pulled out of the World Cup after suffering a muscle tear in his right thigh during training with Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n

Bayern announced on Saturday that Gnabry would be out for an “extended period” after tearing his adductor muscle. without revealing further details<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The player confirmed on Instagram on Wednesday that he will miss the World Cup, which will be held in Mexico, Canada and the United States in June.<\/p>\n

“The last few days have been tough to process. There is still a lot to play for in Bayern’s season after winning the Bundesliga title again at the weekend,” Gnabry wrote. “As for the dream of a World Cup with Germany, unfortunately it’s over for me. <\/p>\n

“Like everyone in the rest of the country, I will be rooting for my players from home. It’s now time to focus on my recovery and return for pre-season. Thank you for all your messages.”<\/p>\n

Gnabry contributed eight goals for Bayern and scored a further seven goals. broke the Bundesliga scoring record<\/span> in front decided on the title<\/span> last weekend.<\/p>\n
