The 33-year-old midfielder appeared on former teammate Rio Ferdinand’s podcast and during the conversation did not hesitate to praise and highlight the contribution and influence the 27-year-old French forward has had at Real Madrid.<\/p>\n
“Can we get anything more from Kylian Mbapp? Winning the Ballon d’Or is a matter of timing. For me he has been the best player all season. He is scoring more goals now than before,” Pogba told Via Mundo Deportivo.<\/p>\n
For Pogba, that’s clear. Mbappu’s talent speaks for itself and he is destined to make his mark on the game. In fact, he said the Frenchman managed to surpass the records of the team’s two greatest scorers in his first year in the white jersey, a fact that underlines the magnitude of his influence on the team.<\/p>\n
“He scored more goals in his first season at Real Madrid than Cristiano Ronaldo or Ronaldo Nazario,” he said. “He can only get better. I’m not surprised,” he concluded.<\/p>\n
In fact, according to the club itself, Mbapp became the first player to score 44 goals in his first season as a Madrid player, surpassing Ibn Zamorano’s 37 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo and Van Nistelrooy’s 33 goals, and Ronaldo Nazario’s 30 goals. <\/p>\n
And this support is not unusual, as he himself has witnessed Mbapp’s talent with the French national team, with Kylian coming to his aid on a number of occasions. “We understand each other. Even if I hit the ball poorly sometimes, he still gets there. He’s very fast. I know how he runs.”<\/p>\n
