Chelsea’s move comes just months after hiring Liam Rosenior, with the Blues manager adopting a new approach to their next manager, a result deemed unacceptable.<\/h2>\n

Liam Rosenior was sacked as Chelsea manager after just 106 days. Chelsea will retain Callum MacFarlane as manager until the end of the season, with a decision to be made on his permanent appointment.<\/p>\n
But less than 24 hours after Chelsea’s defeat to Brighton, which saw them scoreless and their fifth straight league defeat, the ax fell on Rosenior. Rosenior then spoke out against the players, leading to a clash with the dressing room as the club ran out of time to save the season. The club’s co-owner, Behdad Egbali, visited Brighton and forced his hand after hearing chants against the club’s hierarchy and manager.<\/p>\n
A heated debate took place at the club’s training ground on Wednesday, but the result was deemed simply not good enough. Chelsea are in serious danger of missing out on the Champions League and have an FA Cup semi-final against Leeds on Sunday.<\/p>\n
They have now decided to try to turn things around, but are not in active talks with a new manager and are adamant that they will only consider candidates after the season ends. The club are understood to have been reluctant to make any changes and believe negotiations were amicable and the parting ways were done on good terms.<\/p>\n

Incredibly, Rosenior is less than four months into his six-and-a-half year contract, and players and staff were informed of the decision before the announcement was made public. Rosenior has won praise within the club for his conduct and the way he builds relationships with staff.<\/p>\n
However, they are likely to bring in a more experienced, top-level coach at the end of the season, with former Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas an early bookmakers’ favorite but ruled out in January.<\/p>\n

Fans are already demanding bigger names since the sacking of Enzo Maresca in January, despite him bringing the Club World Cup, European trophies and even the Champions League.<\/p>\n
Macfarlane briefly took over from Maresca and actually led Chelsea to a draw against Manchester City before Rosenior took over and promoted the former youth coach to the first-team staff. The hope now is that he can lift the mood, save the season in the FA Cup and deliver European football.<\/p>\n
