Alejandro Garnacho’s time at Manchester United ended on a sour note as Nicky Butt claimed his attitude was clearly an issue and Ruben Amorim gave him the green light to leave.<\/h2>\n

Nicky Butt has slammed Alejandro Garnacho’s behavior, claiming the former Manchester United star quickly earned a “high opinion of himself” but “wasn’t that great anyway”.<\/p>\n
The Argentine first made his name at Old Trafford and enjoyed a few breakout moments before moving to Chelsea in the summer and falling out with the players above him.<\/p>\n
Garnacho rubbed Ruben Amorim the wrong way and became increasingly marginalized. He sat on the bench during the Europa League final but reacted angrily on social media, later sharing a photo of himself wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford’s name on it.<\/p>\n
He has made it clear he wants to leave and United were happy to facilitate a move. When Garnacho first hit his stride, Butt was head of the club’s academy and it was clear he valued himself, but his antics on the final day were completely unacceptable.<\/p>\n
He said on The Good, the Bad and the Football: “I thought he had an edge, and I was there when he got into the first team so I’ll just say what I think, but he established himself too quickly. He achieved superstar status too quickly.<\/p>\n

“And that’s not to say former players are overpaid. We want young players to be paid millions of dollars too, but he achieved superstar status too quickly and obviously made an incredible bicycle kick. Someone at that club or team should have and could have knocked him out at the time, but he ignored them.”<\/p>\n
“But the best thing United did was sell him, because forget his abilities and I don’t think he’s that great anyway, but I thought his attitude when he was at United was disgraceful. More importantly when he left, and when you leave and you have a complete disrespect for your team-mates and the football club, that’s it.”<\/p>\n

Despite pushing for a transfer, Garnacho found himself a Chelsea international. He has started 14 games for the Blues but has not made a consistent impact at a club boasting a wealth of attacking talent.<\/p>\n
Last week, he appeared to delete all Chelsea-related posts from his TikTok account, but was set to feature in the Blues’ defeat to his former team at the weekend. His recent poor run of form has led to further doubts over whether he will qualify for next season’s Champions League.<\/p>\n
