Liverpool lost goalkeeper Giorgi Mamadashvili to a serious injury in a collision with Everton striker Beto on Sunday, and it has been revealed how long the player will be out.<\/h2>\n

Freddie Woodman is expected to continue as goalkeeper after Liverpool received a prognosis for injured Giorgi Mamadashvili. The Georgia keeper was stretchered off during Sunday’s 2-1 Merseyside derby win over Everton but did not suffer any major injuries.<\/p>\n
Mamadashvili has been a regular substitute for first-choice keeper Alisson this season, but he himself suffered an injury at Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Everton striker slipped in to make it 1-1 and collided with Beto, injuring his knee.<\/p>\n
He was taken to hospital as third-choice keeper Woodman made his Premier League debut. Mamadashvili has since been discharged from the hospital and reassured fans in an Instagram post on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank God, everything is fine,\u201d he wrote. “Thank you all so much for your support and for being by my side. I’ll be right back.”<\/p>\n

According to The Athletic, he has suffered a deep knee injury and is expected to be out for two to four weeks. With Alisson still out with a hamstring injury, Woodman will start for Liverpool when they host Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Woodman joined the Reds from Preston in the summer and made just one appearance this season, a 3-0 Carabao Cup loss to Palace on 29 October. The 29-year-old, who made his first league appearance on Sunday, could start the next two games against Palace and Manchester United on May 3.<\/p>\n
That will depend on the speed of Mamadashvili’s recovery and the progress of Alisson, who is targeting a return against United. The Brazilian has been plagued by injuries this season, making just 34 appearances and has been out since the 4-0 win over Galatasaray on March 18.<\/p>\n

“Has anything surprised you about injuries this season?” Slott said Sunday when asked about Mamadashvili’s exit.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday we had two goalkeepers on the bench, so maybe I already imagined it, but usually that’s not the case, but of course it has everything to do with the availability of all the other positions.<\/p>\n
“Giorgi had a big injury and had to go to hospital so we’ll see. Freddie deserves a lot of credit. He came on just after we conceded 1-1 and the fans were prepared for it, but he did a really good job.”<\/p>\n
Liverpool are solely focused on the Premier League after being eliminated from the Champions League at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain last week. Virgil van Dijk’s stoppage-time header secured bragging rights and three points in the race for Champions League qualification on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Slott’s side sit fifth in the Premier League, seven points behind Chelsea, who have now lost four games in a row.<\/p>\n
