Noah Lang suffered a severe finger injury during Galatasaray’s defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last month and was carried off on a stretcher.<\/h2>\n

Liverpool have changed their advertising at Anfield after Noah Lang suffered a serious thumb injury last month. In a rare incident, the Galatasaray forward suffered a deep cut after colliding with a promotional building while chasing the ball during his team’s 4-0 loss.<\/p>\n
The Dutch international underwent lengthy treatment and was carried out of the stadium on a stretcher about 45 minutes after the final whistle. Lang will later undergo emergency surgery at Wiston Hospital, and tonight will be the Reds’ first Champions League match since the incident when Arne Slott’s side take on Paris Saint-Germain.<\/p>\n
After the match, Liverpool and UEFA officials were seen investigating the hoarding of advertisements where the incident occurred. And now, according to The Athletic, work is being carried out at Anfield to fix some of the boards around the goal area that create impact when players hit them.<\/p>\n
However, while Liverpool believe what happened to Lang was an accident, the report also claims that the changes should help prevent the same thing from happening in the future. Speaking to Dutch outlet Ziggo Sport last month, Lang said: “(The thumb) is still intact, that’s the most important thing.”<\/p>\n
“I won’t be able to play on my PlayStation for a while, but I’ll be able to someday. Luckily, all I need to be able to play soccer is my legs.”<\/p>\n

After the match, Galatasaray filed a formal complaint with UEFA and was considering legal action to seek compensation. The club’s general secretary Elai Yazgan told Turkish news outlet HTSport the day after the match: “After the match, we complained about this to UEFA representatives. They conducted an investigation.”<\/p>\n
“UEFA will assess this matter. We are consulting with our lawyers. We will submit a compensation claim to UEFA. We will demand a resolution of our salary grievances. If our demands are not met, we may take legal action. Our priority is the health of our players.”<\/p>\n
Galatasaray club doctor Jenel Ince detailed last month’s injuries in a statement, saying: “I would like to discuss the condition of the two players who were injured in the Champions League round of 16 match against Liverpool.”<\/p>\n

“Our player, Noah Lang, sustained a serious injury to his right index finger. I want to be clear that it is not a complete amputation, but the injury is serious.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis area required urgent repair, so he underwent successful surgery in Liverpool as soon as possible, rather than being taken to Istanbul.\u201d<\/p>\n
