Gary Neville’s company Overlap has announced the acquisition of Mark Goldbridge’s YouTube channels ‘The United Stand’ and ‘That’s Football’ for an estimated seven-figure sum.<\/h2>\n

Gary Neville is set to work with Manchester United personality Mark Goldbridge after Overlap announced the acquisition of his YouTube channel. Goldbridge’s channels ‘The United Stand’ and ‘That’s Football’ have been taken over by Neville’s company in a deal reportedly worth seven figures.<\/p>\n
Overlap was co-founded by Neville in 2021 and is best known for its weekly podcast Stick to Football, which features guests including former United defender Roy Keane, Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher and Jill Scott. The company sold a majority stake to media giant Global earlier this year and is now expanding into YouTube.<\/p>\n
Goldbridge’s channel has a total of 3.7 million subscribers, and its operator, whose real name is Brent Di Cesare, has become a well-known figure on social media.<\/p>\n
Goldbridge and Neville’s meeting is interesting considering their past history. Goldbridge is known for his violent and comical rants about all things United and has previously slammed Neville, with the former defender criticizing “that bloody YouTuber”.<\/p>\n

That’s a waste of time, given the potential for making money in the rapidly growing YouTube media landscape. “Mark has criticized me more than anyone else, but I don’t have to agree with him,” Neville told Broadcast Sport. “He knows what he’s doing and he has to keep criticizing me. That’s how the world works.”<\/p>\n
The Guardian said the deal was worth a “seven-figure sum”. ‘The United Stand’ and ‘That’s Football’ will be rebranded with new content. The United Stand will be home to Stick to United, featuring former players and journalists, and news program The Daily United.<\/p>\n
Neville says there’s more to come, with Overlap planning to launch more YouTube channels. “(We) need to enter into discussions with other channels, but we are not in a hurry,” he said. “We will wait for the right opportunity in the next six, 12, 18 months. I don’t think of it as a media empire.”<\/p>\n

The 51-year-old said he realized the need for more overlap after United sacked Ruben Amorim in early January. He had met Goldbridge a month earlier and the deal was quickly sealed since then.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are building what we believe will be one of the most exciting independent football communities in the world, providing fans with direct, personality-driven content,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnited Stand and That\u2019s Football are two of the most popular football channels on YouTube and our aim is to develop them into the most engaging Manchester United and football news channels on the market.\u201d<\/p>\n
“I’ve spent the last 10 years building the United Stand for Manchester United fans and That’s Football for all fans, and I’m more proud of it than anything I’ve ever achieved,” Goldbridge said.<\/p>\n
