The Scotland captain will leave Liverpool after nine years at Anfield when his current contract expires at the end of this season.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims the 32-year-old left-back has “verbally agreed” to join Spurs on the condition that they avoid relegation from the Premier League this season. West Ham’s win over Wolves on Friday night saw Spurs slip into the relegation zone.

The north London club inquired about signing Robertson during the January transfer window, but the Reds quickly rejected the approach.

It is now claimed that Robertson has an agreement in place to join Roberto Di Zerbi’s side as a free agent if the Italian manager allows him to stay in the top flight.

Spurs dropped to 18th place after West Ham’s 4-0 victory over Wolves on Friday night.
