T<\/span>In the world of club football, there has never been a greater love story than Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona. The club that brought in the Argentinian boy was rewarded tenfold as Messi became perhaps the greatest player of all time, earning him and the club countless trophies. But then it ended the way no one had hoped.<\/p>\nWith Joan Laporta elected as president, he focused on rebuilding the club. That left no room for Messi, at least that’s what Laporta claimed. Messi moved to PSG and then settled at Inter Miami. Meanwhile, Barcelona began to be built by an incredibly talented youth movement. Currently, both Messi and Barcelona are thriving without each other.<\/p>\n
But that hasn’t stopped Bar\u00e7a fans from wanting to see Messi in Sport Blaugrana colors again. There have been rumors for several years that Messi would like to return at some point, but no one is sure if that means as a player or after his playing career is over.<\/p>\n

However, if Messi wants to play there before retiring, he has not made it clear to Barcelona’s current front office. Sporting director Deco, who was Messi’s teammate at the club in the mid-2000s, recently spoke about Messi’s possible return. He clarified that Messi has never contacted the club about a possible return.<\/p>\n
\nThe repatriation scenario has never been on the table, at least not since I’ve been here. Neither Messi nor anyone in his inner circle called him and said they wanted to return. I want to play. \u201dThere were a lot of rumors, but also a lot that weren\u2019t true. It’s a little silly to talk about these things with a great player like Leo without anything concrete. As a player, he’s in good shape. He went to Inter – he made that decision – and things went well. I’m sure he’ll be happy there.<\/p>\n
