West Ham 2-2 Leeds (Leeds won 4-2 on penalties): Daniel Farke’s side cruised to victory after two late goals in a classic FA Cup tie sent it down to penalties.<\/h2>\n

The thousands of West Ham fans who left missed out on the FA Cup classic.<\/p>\n
However, they missed out on some heartbreak and drama as Leeds gave it their all and won on penalties in a huge show that lasted three hours and six minutes.<\/p>\n
It was an incredible draw that saw West Ham celebrity Danny Dyer sit out after some twists and turns, but it ended with Leeds celebrating in front of 9,000 away fans.<\/p>\n
What a story for Leeds manager Daniel Farke and his players to reach the club’s first semi-final in 39 years and now at Wembley.<\/p>\n
This only tells half the story as Leeds were leading 2-0 in the 90th minute when the game went into 11 minutes of stoppage time due to lengthy VAR checks.<\/p>\n

Despite the stadium being largely empty, they tried and failed to storm the turnstiles to re-enter after Matheus Fernandes, and Axel DiSasi scored in the 93rd and 96th minutes to force extra time.<\/p>\n
West Ham then scored in extra time with 20-year-old newcomer Finlay Herrick converting a penalty after Alphonse Areola was forced off injured.<\/p>\n
Herrick, the only player with senior experience, joined Boreham Wood on loan but could not prevent Leeds from winning with Pascal Strujk converting the decisive penalty.<\/p>\n
This was proof that the FA Cup is still alive and well. Stories everywhere. Leeds played against West Ham, but Farke was told he would not be allowed to take penalties for the away team due to safety concerns.<\/p>\n

In the end, a coin toss was taken and the shoot-out took place right in front of the West Ham side, but that still failed to save West Ham from defeat, leaving them with the possibility of reaching the semi-finals for the first time since 2006.<\/p>\n
Before kick-off, they introduced Ray Stewart, the hero of the team that last won the FA Cup in 1980 and was famous for his thunderbolt penalties. Even now, during the gunfight, you’ll still be fantasizing about him.<\/p>\n
Leeds had to consider the cost of injuries with Anton Stach, Joe Rodon and Noah Okafor all out injured, but this game will be remembered for a long time.<\/p>\n

They took the lead after 26 minutes. Aoi Tanaka entered the box from Okafor’s cross. Tanaka made a nice turn and his shot deflected off Axel Disasi and looped over West Ham keeper Alphonse Areola.<\/p>\n
Leeds were denied a Stonewall penalty before half-time. After the ball left, Killman wiped out Statch with a terrifying challenge. Statch’s shot required a fine save from Arreola, but it was still a foul. Leeds were penalized twice as Stutch had to be sent off.<\/p>\n
That was reviewed when Kilman upset Brenden Aaronson. It looked like everything was going well when Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed the last penalty and bravely stepped up and converted in front of the Leeds fans.<\/p>\n
Kilman’s next touch was met with boos. Even after 11 minutes of stoppage time, there was still hope for West Ham.<\/p>\n

Axel DiSasi’s stoppage-time equalizer sent the game into overtime.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
However, he scored a goal in the third minute of stoppage time. Jarrod Bowen’s curling shot hit the post and hit Matheus Fernandes, who had an empty net in front of him. Hope.<\/p>\n
Three minutes later, Disasi responded to Adama Traore’s cross and slotted the ball into the net. It was enough to send the game into overtime.<\/p>\n
It wasn’t over yet. The overtime period became a war of attrition. Bowen hit the post again. Arreola was sent off with an injury, and Herrick scored the penalty goal.<\/p>\n
Joel Pillow missed the game against Leeds. Incredibly, however, Bowen felt his efforts were salvaged. Leeds then scored for Calvert-Lewin, Aaronson, Wilfried Gnont and Struijk. Kyle Walker-Peters and Tomas Soucek had goals, but Pablo saved and Leeds advanced.<\/p>\n
