Bruno Fernandes has produced an outstanding performance as the Manchester United captain has been crowned Premier League Player of the Month for the sixth time.<\/h2>\n

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of six Premier League Player of the Month awards. Fernandes, 31, dominated the votes with two goals and four assists in four games in March.<\/p>\n
The United captain beat six of his Premier League colleagues to win the award – James Garner, Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Gordon, Alex Iwobi, David Raya and Danny Welbeck. His form has helped Michael Carrick’s side consolidate their place in the top five as they look to qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n
Only three players have won more Premier League POTM awards than Fernandes: Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Mo Salah. Meanwhile, Ronaldo won the award for the sixth time in April 2022 during his second spell at United.<\/p>\n
His extraordinary longevity and legendary status at Old Trafford are part of the reason why Fernandes continues to draw inspiration from his compatriot. Asked who he admires in an interview on the club’s website, the midfielder said: “Cristiano is easy for me.<\/p>\n

“He was Portuguese and everyone from 2000 – I was born in 1994 – from that age onwards everyone looked at him and looked at him. He won the Ballon d’Or with the club, which was very special.”<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the fans here will never forget the day he came back against Newcastle, it was an unforgettable day.<\/p>\n
“He came back, scored two goals and looked like he never left. The atmosphere in the stadium that day was crazy. Probably the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced.”<\/p>\n

“Not the rest, just the fact that Cristiano is back, what was created around that, the way he entered the pitch, the way he presented, everything still gives me goosebumps.”<\/p>\n
Ronaldo and Fernandes are looking to bring excitement to the World Cup together this summer. But for now, the latter’s priority is United’s Premier League ambitions.<\/p>\n
The Red Devils will not play again until Monday 13th April when they host Leeds United. Next Saturday, Carrick and his side travel to Chelsea for a home match against Brentford on Monday night.<\/p>\n
