There are rumors that USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s departure is still undecided, and there has been a lot of talk on social media in recent days. On Monday, he finally answered that question, offering a surprisingly open perspective on what will happen after the final whistle blows this July. <\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Portugal, the 54-year-old Argentine revealed that a move with American soccer may not be the “short-term solution” that many think.<\/p>\n

“No one knows what will happen. We are open. We have no future contracts, but if we are happy and the federation is happy, then why not?”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While he acknowledged that the role was bigger than we expected when the staff first arrived, he emphasized that they are a group that loves a challenge.
