Kai Rooney has released a statement confirming that he will miss the remainder of the season with Manchester United’s Under-16s. The teenager is one of the most promising talents in United’s academy.<\/p>\n
The 16-year-old, the son of United’s all-time top scorer Wayne Rooney, has made huge strides at Carrington this season. Rooney won the Premier League Shield with United’s Under-16s on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Michael Carrick’s son Jaycee Carrick also featured in the 2-0 win against Burnley. However, he is currently out for an extended period due to injury. “It’s a shame to miss the rest of the season. I’ll be back even stronger next preseason,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories, along with a love heart emoji.<\/p>\n

Kai had a fantastic year with United’s youth team, scoring a goal for the Under-18s and earning his first scholarship to the club’s youth team. He is eligible to sign a professional contract next season.<\/p>\n

The U-18 team reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup and the final of the Premier League Cup. However, Kai will not be able to perform.<\/p>\n
Despite this, Kai seems to have a bright future in the game. The young star has joined Triple S Sports, the agency where his father also has a long-term contract.<\/p>\n
