Chelsea’s place in the Champions League is in jeopardy as they were overwhelmed by Everton, another tough night for recently appointed manager Liam Rosenior.<\/h2>\n

Chelsea were defeated by Everton on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\n
The ‘Match of the Day’ committee was stunned to discover that Chelsea have covered fewer miles than their opponents in every Premier League game this season.<\/p>\n
On Saturday night, the Blues lost 3-0 to Everton, making it their fourth straight defeat. Liam Rosenior has already seen his team beaten twice by PSG, including at home to Newcastle<\/p>\n
Saturday was another painful night for Chelsea, with their hopes of returning to the Champions League suffering a huge blow.<\/p>\n
When analyzing the match, pundit Alan Shearer focused on the distance covered by both teams at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the hosts covering 111.85km compared to Chelsea’s 105.79km.<\/p>\n
And that has proved to be the case for all of this season’s top-flight matches, much to the surprise of presenter Mark Chapman and fellow pundit Wayne Rooney alike.<\/p>\n

Shearer explained: “Everton outplayed Chelsea today, but the surprising statistic we discovered is that in every Premier League game this season, Chelsea have outscored their opponents…every Premier League game!”<\/p>\n
Chapman then interjected, saying, “And we double-checked that! Because all three of us were like, ‘Really?!’<\/p>\n
Shearer continued: “Every game Chelsea played, home or away, the opposition outplayed them…what does that tell you?”<\/p>\n
Rooney pointed to the fact that Chelsea field one of the youngest teams in the league and constant rotation could be having a negative effect on them.<\/p>\n

Rooney said: “They have a lot of young players, but they are very inexperienced and the team is quite different, so I don’t think they have a sense of unity on the pitch.”<\/p>\n
“The more you change young players, the less they’re going to be able to play and compete.”<\/p>\n
Chelsea remain two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and one point behind fifth-placed Liverpool, who are likely to be the finalists to qualify for the Champions League.<\/p>\n
But the chasing pack has effectively caught up with them, with the likes of Brentford and yesterday’s opponents Everton almost within reach.<\/p>\n

After the game on Merseyside, Rosenior admitted it was the worst of his short spell in charge.<\/p>\n
“Yeah, it was the most disappointing night we’ve ever talked about. We talked about not giving away goals, making sure we were in the game and controlling the game,” he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat didn’t happen and it turned out to be a really, really difficult night where the result and performance were far from what we expected.\u201d<\/p>\n
