FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) \u2014 Bayern Munich has lost its appeal against Luis Diaz’s one-match suspension for his red card in the Bundesliga, despite the referee admitting his call was not appropriate.<\/p>\n

Diaz received a second yellow card for diving and was sent off. Bayern drew 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen<\/span> He also scored Bayern’s only goal on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Due to a yellow card violation, he was not subject to video review. Christian Dingert, who watched the replay in a post-match TV interview on Sky Sports Germany, said he missed the contact between Dias and goalkeeper Janis Vlasovic, adding: “The second yellow card was very harsh and now that I see the footage, I don’t think I’ll give that rating anymore.”<\/p>\n

However, it was not enough for the German Football Association’s sports court to overturn the automatic one-match suspension for the sending off.<\/p>\n

Court president Stefan Oberholz ruled on Monday that Dingelt’s comments were inappropriate and not a “totally wrong” call because Diaz was seeking contact with the opposing goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

“The decisive factor is that this case is a factual determination that can only be corrected if it is materially, clearly, undeniably and objectively wrong. That is not the case here,” he said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Dias will serve his suspension for Saturday’s game against Union Berlin. Bayern can appeal this decision.<\/p>\n

Bayern has other concerns in the squad after three games injury<\/span> They won 6-1 against Atalanta in the Champions League last week. <\/p>\n
