The payments were made for the benefit of Chelsea FC and should have been treated as having been made by the club.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe club also admitted, among other things, that by making these payments and failing to disclose them to the league, it breached its requirement to act in good faith toward the league.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea accepted the self-reported accusations after Todd Boley&#8217;s consortium bought the club in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;From the outset of this process, the club has treated these matters with the utmost seriousness and has co-operated fully with all relevant regulatory authorities,&#8221; the club said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The club welcomes the &#8216;extraordinary co-operation&#8217; from the Premier League and the recognition that &#8216;without these voluntary disclosures and self-reports, many of the Premier League&#8217;s breaches of regulations may never have come to the league&#8217;s attention.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea were fined \u00a310m by UEFA in 2023 for self-reporting past transactions between 2012 and 2019.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>This is breaking news.
