Carlo Ancelotti was scheduled to attend the match to keep a close eye on him and ensure his name was included in the reserve list of players called up for Brazil’s friendlies ahead of the World Cup. And now, #10 is here to put an end to that criticism and “myth.” <\/p>\n
Nei breaks the silence<\/h2>\n
“There are a lot of people making assumptions about what is happening to me, so nothing is happening,” the former PSG player said in a video shared on his social media accounts.<\/p>\n
Ney has not played for the Brazilian national team since October 17, 2023, and recently returned to Santos following knee surgery to treat a torn medial meniscus. <\/p>\n
He was expected to return for Canarinha’s friendlies before the tournament, and was named on the reserve list to face France in Boston on March 26th and Croatia in Orlando on March 31st. Caretto was scheduled to watch the match against Mirasol, but decided not to play due to the risk of aggravating the injury. <\/p>\n
Of course, this decision did not satisfy 100% of the fans, and while asserting that “it is very difficult to make the right decision and please everyone,” Neymar continued his statement, saying in the same recording: “As I was told last year, if I play with an injury, I’m wrong. If I’m only thinking about myself, I’m wrong. If I’m taking care of myself, I’m wrong. If I play with pain or anything that could make it worse, I’m wrong. That’s wrong.” Complicated, right? \u201d he asked.<\/p>\n
“They are the ones who seem to be by your side every day and start making up stories as if they are the greatest truth in the world and the owners of reason,” Neymar added. “Being me is so complicated. I have to be patient with them, you know?”<\/p>\n
Ancelotti has repeatedly insisted that all players must be “100%” fit to be called up. Neymar will therefore be given one last chance to convince Santos’ coaching staff next Sunday, March 15, when they play Corinthians in the Brazilian national championship at the Urbano Caldeira Stadium. The 66-year-old Italian coach is expected to announce his squad for the international friendly on Monday.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, we will have to wait and see if Nei eventually returns to play for the Brazilian national team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
