The floodgates opened in the closing stages of PSG vs. Chelsea due to a mistake by Filip Jorgensen.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\n
This week’s Champions League was a tale of self-inflicted pain for the England team and their goalkeeper, with Chelsea’s Filip Jorgensen left to lament his risky approach.<\/p>\n
Without the Swede and his high-risk approach, the Blues might have retreated to Stamford Bridge. Tuesday night saw another London side in Tottenham go into full meltdown mode, with goalkeeper Antonin Kinski making unwanted headlines.<\/p>\n
Jorgensen’s accident wasn’t too bad, but the goaltender continued to take chances on his arm all night, and the way he did it took a toll on him and his team. A misplaced pass allowed Vicinha to score his fifth goal of the night, lobbing the out-of-place Dane to put PSG up 3-2, but things only got worse for the Blues from there.<\/p>\n
That mistake changed the course of the game and a night that looked very positive ended with the Blues realistically having a mountain to climb. Hvi\u010da Kvaratschelia came on from the bench and scored the Parisians’ second goal, which changed the course of the game.<\/p>\n
Chelsea have shown they have what it takes to integrate with PSG. With all this talk about the knockout draw being split into an easy side and a heavyweight side, there is very little talk about the Blues when it comes to the heavyweights, but they gave it their all for a long time.<\/p>\n

Performance and making it worthwhile are two different things. It will be of no consolation to them to see the score with their Champions League hopes all but gone after PSG showed a ruthless side in the closing stages.<\/p>\n
Jorgensen also played a dangerous pass in the closing stages and Chelsea lost the ball, conceding a fifth goal. An offside flag would save them, even if only for a moment. But that didn’t prevent the Chelsea goalkeeper from lashing out at Enzo Fernandes for his goal, clearly frustrated at not learning his lesson.<\/p>\n

Hvitya Kvaratschelia came off the bench to score the second goal and almost equalized the game.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Maro Gusto scored Chelsea’s first equalizer in the 45th minute, and Fernandes, who has been linked with a move to Paris, made a perfectly timed run to silence the usual Parc des Princes. A 2-2 draw would have been a good draw.<\/p>\n
Kvaratschelia made a brilliant cameo in stoppage time with his second goal and his team’s fifth, but it was yet another blow. It feels like we could look back at a night where Liam Rosenier’s side promised a lot but ultimately delivered little. Yes, for the past hour they had all the characteristics of a team on the rise, but PSG showed how far they still have to go.<\/p>\n
