Dominic Solanke has revealed Tottenham’s stars had a crisis discussion in the dressing room following their latest humiliating defeat. The North London side suffered a miserable 3-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

The former Bournemouth striker had actually given his side the lead, only for Ismaila Sarr’s goal and Jorgen Strand Larsen’s goal before the break to turn the game around. To make matters worse, Spurs defender Micky van de Ven was also sent off.

This marks the club’s 14th Premier League upset of the season, leaving them one point above the relegation zone and two places above the league with nine games remaining.

When asked how the team responded to the loss, Solanke said there was a discussion among the players in the locker room. “We’ve just had a big conversation. We know that the position we’re in is not where we want to be, so we need to find a way to get out of the situation as soon as possible,” he told TNT Sports.

“We know there have been difficulties, but we are no longer in a position to make excuses. We have to work on the pitch. It’s easy to say we want to be better, but on the pitch we want to be better.

“We need to fight and understand the position we are in. We know the club is not used to this position, so we need to understand that and understand that it is not easy. We need to fight every game, every minute to make sure we improve.”

Igor Tudor, who was drafted to serve as interim manager until the end of the season, also made his own decision after losing all three games he has been in charge of. At the post-match press conference, he said, “I want to stay positive.

“After this game, in the end I can’t say anything to the players. They gave everything. Unfortunately, we pay for the details. We pay for the details. If you can say that a red card is a detail, there is always something to be said.”

“All the problems we have now, the absence of a defender today, the absence of a full-back, these are problems that we already know. I don’t want to talk about it, but we need to come together now.”

“It’s always the same thing over and over again, but that’s how it is. Believe and grow. Don’t make mistakes. That’s the key at the end of soccer. Stay there and don’t make mistakes. One goal, one goal. That’s a goal.”

“Two goals, you can score, but in football it is important not to make mistakes. Unfortunately, at this moment we will pay everything, but in return we believe that we will change everything. There are still nine games left. There are still nine games left.”
