On Tuesday, March 3, it was confirmed that the Real Madrid star suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee during the 1-0 defeat against Getafe. <\/p>\nUnfortunately, this means he will have to say goodbye to his season with Los Merengues and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he had hoped to defend the Brazilian colors. Despite the pain of this moment, his teammates and team showed support. <\/p>\n
Goth receives love from the football world<\/h2>\n The 25-year-old star player shared one of the most heartbreaking posts of his career on his official Instagram account, announcing his injury and subsequent sideline. <\/p>\n
Rather than sugarcoating the situation and declaring it “one of the worst days of my life,” he expressed deep remorse and was more than clear about his beliefs and passion for soccer. He also took the time to thank his fans and loved ones. <\/p>\n
“Thank you everyone for your prayers, messages and love! You all mean so much to me. Even though things are very difficult right now, I promise I will not stop here. I believe I still have a lot of great things to experience and bring joy to everyone who trusts in me. See you soon… God remains in control of everything,” he wrote, along with two photos and a video showing the exact moment of the injury.<\/p>\n
After announcing that this injury would keep him off the field for at least six months, Rodrygo received multiple displays of affection.<\/p>\n
Real Madrid, the Brazilian Football Federation and Santos FC, where he started his career in the club’s youth organization in 2011, shared a post on Instagram wishing him a speedy recovery and the strength to cope with this injury.<\/p>\n
Fans also left messages such as, “Rhodri, get well soon,” “Cheer up, I’ll be waiting for you,” and “Que Deus te abenoe e boa recuperao” (God bless you and have a speedy recovery).<\/p>\n
