QPR lost to Southampton at St Mary’s, and as emotions ran high and things looked heated, Isaac Hayden was set to speak to fans on the road.<\/h2>\n

Former Newcastle ace Isaac Hayden got into a heated argument with a fan and walked away after QPR’s defeat to Southampton on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Hayden spent nine years at St James’ Park before moving to west London and has been playing in the Championship ever since. It’s been over a decade since QPR last played in the Premier League, but they still sit mid-table in the second division.<\/p>\n
Frustration among the fans attending St Mary’s Stadium was clearly growing and Hayden walked to the away section after the blow. He then engaged with several supporters and eventually expelled himself.<\/p>\n
The defeat boosted Southampton into the play-offs, but QPR remained in 11th place. The Saints scored two points in the first half, but added three more in the 45th minute of the second half.<\/p>\n
Finn Azaz curled a low shot into the top corner to give the south coast side an early lead. Southampton then doubled their lead just before half-time with Hisaru Matsuki’s header from a corner kick for his first goal of the Championship.<\/p>\n

The Japanese midfielder added another goal five minutes after half-time, and the game ended almost evenly. Leo Cienza added a fourth just before the hour mark, and James Bree scored the fifth 10 minutes later with a shot from outside the box that went just off course.<\/p>\n
QPR were in or near the play-offs at the start of this season, but have fallen down the table in recent weeks. It is Julien Stephens’ first year in charge and it will be the former Rennes manager’s first job in charge of encouraging his players to bounce back in their upcoming home matches, and his first in England.<\/p>\n

QPR’s hopes of making the play-offs are fading fast<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
“We knew it would be very difficult to come back after the third game, so we conceded straight away in the fourth game. It was a repeat of the same situation, but it’s a question of how we can manage the situation to prepare for the next (game), how we can give playing time to some players and how we can give rest to others.”<\/p>\n
“I would have liked to have changed one or two more players, but that wasn’t possible, so the important thing for me now is to switch quickly, reset quickly and think about the next players and see how we can react. I’m sure these players can react.”<\/p>\n
