TURIN, Italy (AP) \u2014 Juventus captain Manuel Locatelli almost cried after watching his team’s great game. champions league<\/span> In Wednesday’s game against Galatasaray, they were just short of a counterattack.<\/p>\n

Leading 5-2 after the first leg, Juventus took a 3-0 lead into extra time in the return match, despite playing with 10 men for most of the second half following Lloyd Kelly’s sending off.<\/p>\n

Galatasaray scored twice in extra time and lost 3-2 on the night, but won 7-5 on aggregate.<\/p>\n

Despite the defeat, Juventus fans applauded the team after the match.<\/p>\n

“It makes me want to cry because of how much we believed,” Locatelli said. \u201cI think we gave our hearts and more than that.\u201d<\/p>\n

“Games like this are memorable,” he added.<\/p>\n

Juventus defender Federico Gatti, who scored his team’s second goal, felt disqualified last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s frustrating because we were a little exhausted and went into overtime,\u201d he said. \u201cWe were really trying to get the game back on track, but again, we let things flow in the first leg. We can’t afford to end up with a draw like this.\u201d<\/p>\n
