Alonso left his job at Real Madrid in January, just six months after replacing Carlo Ancelotti as head coach at the start of the 2025-26 season. His resignation came after a series of episodes that marked a turning point in his short spell in charge of the Spanish giants.<\/p>\n
One of the most talked about moments was the 3-2 loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final. A few days later, a video went viral in which Kylian Mbapp\u00e9 and Rodrygo apparently ignored Alonso’s instructions to act as a guard of honor for the opposition, an act that reflected the coach’s loss of authority within the dressing room.<\/p>\n
