Manchester United star Amad has stressed the importance of Michael Carrick following the Red Devils’ impressive recovery. The former midfielder was handed the reins following the sacking of Ruben Amorim.<\/p>\n
There were calls for Carrick, who had a record of four wins and one draw from five games, to take over permanently, but he has signed a contract until the end of the campaign. This move United into the Champions League qualification area.<\/p>\n
Winger Amado shared his thoughts on Carrick and gave him a glowing mention. Speaking on the Inside Carrington podcast, he said:<\/p>\n
“He is the main person who tells us about the club we play for. He keeps telling us before the game: ‘Guys, you are playing for yourself, but you are also playing for the fans. The fans are very important to us,’ he tells us.”<\/p>\n
“We want to win and we want to give something back to the fans, so we’re also playing for them.<\/p>\n

“I really enjoy having Carrick and I enjoy training with him. He’s a good guy. He talks to everyone and I’m very lucky because I already know him. He was here when I came here, when I was 18.”<\/p>\n
\u201cI played against him when he was in the championship, so I\u2019ve known him for a long time and he\u2019s a nice guy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Amado also shared his thoughts on the return of Jonny Evans, who has returned to the club as a member of Carrick’s coaching team. The Ivorian believes his knowledge of the club has proven invaluable.<\/p>\n

He added: “As players, it’s very important to have people around you who know the club and know exactly what this club means to us. They tell us what it really means, so that’s very important.”<\/p>\n
“And when you step on the field, you want to fight for them. So it’s important to have people like this.”<\/p>\n
United will be looking to continue their eye-catching comeback next Monday when they travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium to take on Everton. If the Red Devils win, they could close the gap on third-placed Aston Villa to just two points.<\/p>\n
