Manager Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear he is not shying away from the pressure that comes with leading the United States to the 2026 World Cup, especially after a direct question from President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
In a recent interview with High Performance newspaper, the Argentina national team coach revealed that he was personally asked by the US president whether his national team could realistically win the tournament, which is primarily held in the United States. Pochettino answered without hesitation.<\/p>\n
“He asked me, ‘Coach, what do you think? Can we win the World Cup?'” And I said, of course, Mr. President, it’s America. We accept the challenge because we truly believe we can win. \u201d<\/p>\n
