Barcelona’s players left the Metropolitano with two images in mind. One was the 4-0 scoreline on the stadium scoreboard. Frenkie de Jong, who was in the mixed zone, still couldn’t believe the seven-minute situation that led to a foul by his teammate.<\/p>\n

“When this game (play) happened, it was difficult for me to comment because I still couldn’t see the video. I think it was too long because it wasn’t that difficult to watch. I think they probably said something about the system being broken, but then I saw a picture that clearly showed that it wasn’t offside,” the Dutch midfielder told Sporty TV.<\/p>\n

The footage was seen in the locker room as soon as the game ended.<\/h2>\n

De Jong added that he probably did not yet realize that it was Lewandowski’s touch in front of Kvarsi’s goal that was cleared from the VOR room, adding: “And in the offside footage shown on TV, you can see no contact with the ball as he takes the shot, and then there was footage of Fermin taking the shot and the defender being a meter behind Robert.”<\/p>\n

If what’s being whistled at is an image I saw and it’s not an AI or something, now I’ll never know… But if it’s a photo, that’s a scandal, because it’s very obvious<\/p>\n

De Jong revealed that as soon as the game was over, the players rushed to watch the offside footage, which they could not see live. “If what is called is an image that I saw and it is not an AI or something, then today you will never know… But if it is a photograph, then it is a scandal, because it is very obvious,” he claimed.<\/p>\n

The Dutchman also spoke about the team’s poor performance and the 4-0 defeat. “The first half was very poor for us. We didn’t do the right things, we lost the ball in dangerous areas and they did well on the counter-attack. We should have done better.”<\/p>\n

“I don’t think we were nervous. The problem was that we didn’t respond well enough in certain aspects, especially when we lost the ball in very dangerous areas and the rest of the defense wasn’t up to expectations. And against Atl\u00e9tico, we had a high quality attack and it was a difficult game.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
