FIFA President Gianni Infantino praised the International Federation of Football Associations’ formal termination agreement. The divisive Super League project And he said, “If we stick together, we can win soccer.”

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin hailed the agreement as a victory for football.

Their comments were made the following day, Thursday, during the 50th UEFA General Assembly in Belgium. The end of the Super League has been announced. Based on an agreement in principle between Real Madrid and UEFA.

Madrid, the 15-time European champions, and their president Florentino Perez looked even more isolated after the match. Barcelona officially withdraws of the super league.

“Yesterday we heard great news about the agreement between UEFA, EFC (European Football Club) and Real Madrid,” Infantino said.

He congratulated Mr Ceferin, EFC leader Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Mr Peres on reaching the agreement.

“I want you to clap for Alexander, Nasser and Florentino,” he said. “Football is won when we stick together.”

Mr Infantino has been accused in the past of helping engineer a breakaway plan by Europe’s elite clubs, but after months of silence he belatedly denied colluding with the rebels.

Ceferin said he was “very happy” to have Madrid and Barcelona “part of the family again”.

“To be honest, we were all tired of these arguments,” he said. “We had a disagreement with the president of Real Madrid, but let me be clear: we have never lost respect for ourselves and each other, we have never lost our love for the game. And let me be even clearer, the only winner in this situation is football and no one else.”

Ceferin said Al-Khelaifi’s “leadership has helped move the dialogue in a common direction, and for that I am very grateful.”

Madrid and Barcelona won Judgment at the European Court of Justice No new clubs have publicly come forward to join the breakaway project, which faced Champions League hosts UEFA in Luxembourg more than two years ago but had no clear path forward.

Wednesday’s agreement was madridUEFA and Influential EFC The group said principles had been agreed that would “also help resolve legal disputes”.

The announcement was made as European football leaders met in Brussels on the eve of UEFA’s annual general meeting of its 55 member federations.

Madrid were at the forefront of 12 clubs from Spain, Italy and England who challenged UEFA to launch a breakaway Super League that they hope will start playing with 20 teams in April 2021. However, the project collapsed within 48 hours following intense backlash in England from fans and the government, who threatened legislation to protect the traditional structures of European football.
