MILAN (AP) – Lautaro Martinez is closing in on another record for Inter Milan.

The World Cup-winning Argentine also scored on Sunday as league leaders Inter cruised to a 2-0 victory over Cremonese in Serie A.

It was Lautaro’s 170th goal for Inter, moving him one point behind Roberto Boninsegna, who ranks third on the club’s all-time goalscoring list. They are surpassed only by Alessandro Altobelli (209 goals) and Giuseppe Meazza (284 goals).

Lautaro has scored 10 goals in his last 13 league games, taking his tally to 128 in Serie A, leaving him 10 goals behind second-placed Benito Lorenzi as Inter’s top scorer in Serie A. Meazza also tops the list with 197 league goals.

Lautaro headed in a corner kick in the 16th minute and hugged his teammates before lifting up his shirt to wish his daughter a happy birthday.

In the 31st minute, Piotr Zielinski doubled Inter’s lead with a powerful 30-yard shot. The shot appeared to be covered by Cremona goalkeeper Emil Audero, but the ball veered in the air and slipped through his arm.

The match had to be stopped for three minutes at the start of the second half. Audero was hit by a smoke bomb. It was thrown by an away fan.

Audero was able to stand up and continue working, but he had a cut on his right leg and apparently told medical staff he was unable to hear in his right ear.

Inter extended their Serie A lead to eight points over second-placed AC Milan, who visit Bologna on Tuesday.

free flowing juventus

Juventus, under coach Luciano Spalletti, play the same kind of interesting, attacking football as the Napoli team that led them to the Serie A title in 2023.

and after that Defeat Napoli 3-0 Last weekend, Juventus won 4-1 against Parma on Sunday.

Bremer scored twice, and American Weston McKennie also had a goal. canadian standout Jonathan David He capped off his scoring with his fourth goal in five games.

Parma briefly made it 2-1 with a comical own goal, when Juventus midfielder Andrea Cambiaso attempted to clear the ball into their own net.

Juventus moved into fourth place, two points ahead of Roma, ahead of Monday’s match against Udinese in the capital.

missed a penalty

Atalanta drew 0-0 against Como despite playing almost the entire game with 10 men.

It was a dramatic start to the game. With less than eight minutes remaining, Atalanta defender Honest Ahanoglu was shown a straight red card for shoving Maximo Perrone in the face off the ball after the Como midfielder appeared to say something to him.

Nico Paz should have won the game for Como as the home side were awarded a penalty in the dying seconds of second-half stoppage time following a handball from Giorgio Scalvini.

However, Paz has missed his last two spot kicks and in the 98th minute Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi was able to stop his rather weak central shot, making him 3 out of 3.

Como remained in sixth place, one place ahead of Atalanta and five points ahead.

Earlier, Torino defeated relegation-threatened Lecce 1-0.
