Tom Brady drops explosive NFL claims amid Patrick Mahomes injury story

Tom Brady hits the market and surprises Inter Miami

According to reports from Germany, English Championship team Birmingham City, in which Tom Brady is a minority shareholder, are close to completing a deal with left-back Kai Wagner, who is currently attracting attention in European football after his impressive performance in MLS.

The move is significant as Wagner has been linked with MLS champions Inter Miami. However, the player appears to be leaning towards England, where his contract is worth 2.3 million euros.

Who is Kai Wagner? Why is Inter Miami interested in him?

Kai Wagner, 28, is one of the most consistent full-backs to have played in MLS in recent years. After spending seven seasons with the Philadelphia Union, he was a key part of the team that won the Supporters’ Shield in 2020 and 2025.

During his time in the US League, Wagner had 53 assists and 10 goals in 153 games, making him one of the most productive defenders in offensive transition. He is also a three-time MLS All-Star and has been linked with interest from clubs such as Inter Miami.

Where will Kai Wagner play in 2026?

Wagner trained at German clubs such as Schalke 04 and Wurzburger, but it was in the United States that he solidified his career. Now it looks like he will follow in the footsteps of other players who left MLS to play in the Championship and make the leap to English football with Birmingham City.

The player is already in England and hopes are high that the transfer will be completed within the next few days.

Tom Brady’s Birmingham City ambitions

Birmingham City’s profile has increased significantly since Brady joined the Knighthead Capital-led ownership group. Their budget doesn’t compare to clubs like Inter Miami, but the NFL legend’s presence opens doors and makes negotiations easier than would have been possible a few years ago.

The purpose of the club is clear. The goal is to fight for promotion to the Premier League, one of the most competitive leagues in the world. This is an ambitious goal.

Inter Miami have already covered that position with the additions of Sergio Reguilon and Jamaican Ian Frey, choosing a different profile to the German.
