LONDON (AP) \u2014 The London City Lionesses hired Edel Maestre as head coach on Friday, nearly two weeks after the Women’s Super League club abruptly sacked Jocelyn Precheur.<\/p>\n

Presure led London City to promotion and sixth place in the 12-team league midway through the season, but the club’s higher-ups reportedly wanted to upgrade his style of play.<\/p>\n

Maestre recently coached the Tenerife women’s team in Spain’s first division. The 39-year-old Spaniard spent three seasons as an assistant coach with Real Sociedad’s women’s team. He has signed a contract until the 2027-28 season.<\/p>\n

City of London is owned by an American businessman Michelle Kang<\/span>which also owns the French club Lyon and the Washington Spirit in the United States.<\/p>\n

Kang, I guess forbes<\/span> The chairman of Kiniska Sports International, a global multi-team sports organization led by women, expects it to be worth $1.2 billion.<\/p>\n
