LONDON (AP) – Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is unsure when U.S. defender Chris Richards will be able to return.<\/p>\n

The American player was stretchered off in the second half with a severe cut on his right leg. match between palace and arsenal<\/span> Tuesday’s English League Cup quarter-final. <\/p>\n

Palace welcomes Tottenham at home premier league<\/span> They play on Sunday and then welcome Fulham on New Year’s Day.<\/p>\n

“He bruised his leg, got stomped on it and had to get stitches,” Glasner said of Richards after the Arsenal game. \u201cI don\u2019t know how many stitches I got, but I got a few.<\/p>\n

“The doctor said it doesn’t look too bad. I always have hope, we have to have hope. I don’t know if he’ll be okay against Tottenham, but I’m still hoping he’ll be back against Fulham.”<\/p>\n

Richards, 25, is a regular starter for the U.S. national team, but a foot injury ruled him out of the 2022 World Cup.<\/p>\n

After trailing 1-1 after 90 minutes, Arsenal defeated Palace 8-7 on penalties.<\/p>\n
