DORTMUND, Germany (AP) – Borussia Dortmund defeated Borussia M\u00f6nchengladbach 2-0 on Friday, extending their unbeaten run in the league to eight games and moving into second place in the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n

Dortmund were six points behind leaders Bayern Munich and three points behind Leipzig.<\/p>\n

Dortmund started with no players. Jobe Bellingham suspended<\/span> Waldemar Anton, Aaron Anselmino and Marcel Sabitzer were also injured, but Julian Brandt, another injury concern, was inserted into the starting XI and immediately made an impact. <\/p>\n

With 10 minutes remaining, Brandt appeared at the far post to slot in a cross from Niklas S\u00fcle to put the home side ahead. It was the talented midfielder’s second goal in two games.<\/p>\n

After taking the lead, Dortmund controlled the match for a long time, but had to wait until the deathbed for the decisive moment.<\/p>\n

Maximilian Beyer scored after receiving a great pass from Fabio Silva, easing the nerves of a team that had given up the lead in their last two league games.<\/p>\n

M\u00f6nchengladbach finished in 11th place.<\/p>\n
