MANCHESTER, England (AP) – U.S. midfielder Tyler Adams is suspected of suffering a medial collateral ligament injury after he limped off during Monday’s 4-4 Premier League draw between Bournemouth and Manchester United.<\/p>\n

Adams was injured while challenging Matheus Cunha two minutes into the game at Old Trafford. He was sent off after treatment on the pitch.<\/p>\n

“He’s definitely the worst news in the game,” Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola said. “I think it’s the MCL that twisted my knee. We need to find out if it’s a minor sprain or something more serious.<\/p>\n

“Losing a player like Tyler is huge for us, especially when we don’t have Lewis Cook (suspended). Alex (Scott) has to play in a midfield position and he’s done really well, but it’s bad news for us because Tyler is huge for us.”<\/p>\n

Adams captained the U.S. team at the last World Cup in Qatar in 2022. The United States’ next game isn’t until a friendly in March.<\/p>\n

He was once again a valuable asset for Bournemouth, appearing in all but one Premier League game and scoring twice, including Goal of the Month in November.<\/p>\n
