Erling Haaland scored his 100th Premier League goal on Tuesday as Manchester City overcame a stunning comeback from Fulham to move within two points of the top of the table.<\/p>\n
Haaland is Fastest player to reach century mark<\/span> He made his first appearance in the league with a 17th-minute opening goal in City’s 5-4 win over Craven Cottage. But a night of personal glory was almost ruined when Fulham came back from 5-1 down and came close to a painful equalizer in stoppage time when Josh King’s shot was cleared over the line.<\/p>\n“It’s not good enough, we all know that and we need to improve as a team,” Haaland told Sky Sports. <\/p>\n
Haaland’s goal from close range was his 100th goal in 111 games. This saw him break England icon Alan Shearer’s record, taking 124 games to reach that benchmark.<\/p>\n
Newcastle twice took the lead against Tottenham, but Cristian Romero scored his second goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time to draw the game 2-2. Jack Grealish scored the only goal of the match as Everton defeated Bournemouth 1-0.<\/p>\n
City overcomes new fear<\/h2>\n
City’s victory closed the gap on leaders Arsenal, who host Brentford on Wednesday. However, it was also a game that exposed the weaknesses in the defense of Josep Guardiola’s team.<\/p>\n

Romero saves Spurs<\/h2>\n
Late in stoppage time, Romero came to the rescue of Tottenham at St James’ Park with an overhead kick.<\/p>\n
After the home side dominated the first half, Newcastle took a 1-0 lead through Bruno Guimar\u00e3es’ goal in the 71st minute.<\/p>\n
Seven minutes later, Romero equalized with a header from the near post.<\/p>\n
Newcastle took the lead again in the 86th minute with Anthony Gordon converting a penalty, but the drama was far from over.<\/p>\n
Romero’s acrobatic shot wowed the home crowd, snatching a point from Spurs and preventing them from extending their run of points conceded to four games.<\/p>\n
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe described the late equalizer as “heartbreaking”.<\/p>\n
“We’ve had a similar experience this season in that we weren’t able to protect the lead at the end of the game and that’s something we have to reflect on,” he said.<\/p>\n
Everton bounced back from their defeat to Newcastle with a win against Bournemouth on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Grealish, on loan from Man City, scored his second goal of the season in the 78th minute.<\/p>\n
