KINSHASA, Congo (AP) – Newcastle striker Yohan Ouissa will miss the African Cup of Nations after failing to qualify. Congo team<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Ouissa joined Newcastle for \u00a355 million on the final day of the summer transfer window, but was injured in a World Cup qualifier against Senegal on September 9 and has yet to play for the club since returning from international duty with Congo.<\/p>\n

Ouissa, 29, has returned to training with Newcastle but it was too late for him to be included in the Congo squad for the African Cup, which begins in Morocco on December 21.<\/p>\n

Wissa has appeared in just two games all season, both for Congo in the World Cup qualifiers in early September. He limited his training with Brentford’s first team during pre-season and subsequently did not feature in the team’s first three Premier League games. Because he wanted to transfer. He ultimately earned a move to Newcastle, who are participating in this season’s Champions League.<\/p>\n

The Congo squad announced late on Monday also included Premier League players Arthur Masuaku, Noah Sadiki (both of Sunderland), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (West Ham) and Axel Tuanzebe (Burnley).<\/p>\n
